Oprah calls India ‘greatest life experience’

By Hindustan Times

Amid raucous cheers from thousands of admirers, television superstar Oprah Winfrey praised the contrast of calm and chaos in India at the Jaipur Literary Fest.

“I came here with an open mind, and it has been expanded... It’s the greatest life experience I have ever had,” Winfrey said, adding, “You feel like you’re in the centre of something bigger and greater than yourself.”

Hundreds of eager visitors jostled against barricades at the back of the main stage area as Winfrey began speaking. Security guards struggled to shut the main entrance gates as angry admirers tried to push their way inside. “It's like being in a video game. I don’t know which way to look,” Winfrey added.

Agneepath strikes right chords with B-Town

By Hindustan Times
Karan Johar's Agneepath remake has received a thumbs up from Bollywood celebrities, who attended a special screening of the much-awaited movie here. The Monday night screening saw attendance from celebrities like Arbaaz Khan and Arjun Rampal and they are all impressed with the remake of the 1990 film.
The Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt and Priyanka Chopra-starrer, directed by debutant Karan Malhotra, is set for release Thursday, and here's what B-Town had to say about it:
Arjun Rampal: It was mind blowing. It's a superb film. Go and watch Agneepath. You guys are going to be blown away.
Zayed Khan: All the performances are fabulous. Finally, superb kind of movies are back. It's amazing. Hrithik, Sanjay, Priyanka, everybody was outstanding.
Arbaaz Khan: I think the director has done a fantastic job and it's a very good remake of the earlier Agneepath. Sanjay's performance is fantastic, Hrithik is looking very good and he has acted very well as well. I think the star of the film is the director.
Dino Morea: I think the remake that they have made is amazing. Hrithik and Sanjay have done a fabulous job. It was fantastic.

Manisha Koirala in a abysmal state

Actress Manisha Koirala was recently spotted in a very unpleasant state at a party hosted by Rohit Roy to launch his new movie SHAUKEEN. The actress, who was known for her good looks, looked haggard and disheveled at the affair.

MANISHA KOIRALA
MANISHA KOIRALA

If rumours are to be believed then the lady was spotted in a drunken state and was not in a condition to even reach home on her own. And it seems she was escorted by people around.

Apparently, the actress is working really hard to save her marriage with businessman hubby Samrat Dahal and an impending divorce.

Shah Rukh Khan shows his love for Gauri

SRK has his ways of putting rumours to rest and proving everything's fine between him and Gauri Khan.

For everyone working overtime contemplating problems in Shah Rukh Khan's paradise, King Khan has proved that he is an eternal romantic and loyal lover not just onscreen but also off-screen, in personal life.

Recently rumours were rife that there seem to be some problems between the steady couple Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan because of SRK's over-friendliness with Priyanka Chopra. The sizzling chemistry between the Don costars was said to have transpired beyond the silver screen. Shah Rukh never reacted to these reports but had his own way of putting the rumours to rest.

Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan had recently been to an awards function in foreign lands and their camaraderie at the after party seemed just out of a Bollywood love story. A source present at the party said, "Shah Rukh invited Gauri for a dance and expectedly she graced the dance floor. The couple indulged in a love-soaked ball-dance on some beautiful numbers and their chemistry was for everyone to see".

We must say Shah Rukh Khan clearly knows how to silence his detractors without speaking a word!

Sonam Kapoor and her 'I hate love storys' director Punit Malhotra were spotted leaving a South Mumbai nightclub together
Sonam Kapoor and Punit Malhotra have long been playing cat-and-mouse game with the media, denyingbeing more than friends. All about 'Agneepath'

Here's all you want to know about Hrithik Roshan-Sanjay Dutt starrer 'Agneepath'
When Yash Johar’s 'Agneepath' released in the year 1990, Karan Malhotra was all of eleven. Little did he know that this would be the film that would launch his career as a director. “Agneepath is a film often described with adjectives such as cult, legend, landmark and classic. The honour to re-tell this classic is now mine and this honour was bestowed upon me by none other than Karan Johar, a man who knew that I was a filmmaker even before I did. A man who was willing to give so much to someone he barely knew. For this I will be forever indebted,” says the first-time director.
Karan adds that his ‘Agneepath’ is nothing more than a tribute to Mukul. S. Anand’s ‘Agneepath’. “And none of this would be possible without the unconditional support of my team,” he adds. Here’s all you want to know about ‘Agneepath’.

What ‘Agneepath’ is about?
The film is set in a small Indian village Mandwa, Vijay Dinanath Chauhan (Hrithik Roshan) is taught by his principled father about the path of fire - Agneepath. His life is completely shattered when the evil drug dealer Kancha (Sanjay Dutt) hangs his father to death. Vijay leaves for Bombay with his pregnant mother and has only one mission in life- to come back to Mandwa and bring back the glory of his father’s name. In Bombay, 12-yr-old Vijay is taken under the wings of the city gang lord Rauf Lala (Rishi Kapoor). From then on it is a journey of revenge where he makes and breaks many relationships only to get closer to his aim. Vijay finds support only in his best friend Kaali (Priyanka Chopra), who stands by him at every moment in his life. Fifteen years later his hatred for Kancha takes him back to Mandwa where life comes full circle.

Meet the players:
Vijay Dinanath Chauhan (Hrithik Roshan)
:Vijay can be defined as a man of simple needs, but one with a mind that is far from simple. He only lives for the day he can destroy Kancha. Vijay is sharp, swift and knows that he has people on his side. Vijay draws strength from his father's memories, but tends to get weak and emotional over his near and dear ones. His source of unconditional support remains his best friend, Kaali. With a heart full of vengeance, Vijay is walking the path of fire!

Kancha (Sanjay Dutt)
:A man whose world is black and the only white that prevails is cocaine! He wants to be the biggest drug-dealer and conquer the markets of Mumbai. Kancha’s manpower is the entire village of Mandwa, who he manipulates and tortures. After brutally murdering the much- respected Dinanath Chauhan, Mandwa became Kancha’s concentration camp where rifles outnumber the people. This unusual man with a menacing laughter smokes his cigar and reads the Bhagavad Gita. He wants to take over Rauf Lala’s empire in Mumbai, where the police are after him, but where politicians are overtaken by fear.

Rauf Lala (Rishi Kapoor):
Rauf Lala, the undisputed gang-lord of Mumbai, took years to build his empire and today has the entire city at his feet. Under the guise of a meat shop, Lala runs his business of wrongdoings. The Mumbai police have been trying to bring him to book for years, but have always failed. He has two sons- Azhar, who is deaf and mute and Mazhar, an intoxicated good-for-nothing.

Kaali (Priyanka Chopra):
In his struggle to topple Kancha, Vijay finds an able ally in the form of Kaali Gavde, a woman who loves life and makes every moment worthwhile in his life. Kaali loves dressing people up and fulfills her dream of running a beauty parlour. Born to a prostitute and brought up in the brothels of Dongri, Kaali’s mother saw to it that her daughter was kept away from a life of disrepute. Since the age of eleven, Kaali’s life has always revolved around Vijay. They share a very unusual, but strong bond. Kaali knows the baggage Vijay comes with, but loves him unconditionally. Kaali believes in Vijay and lends her unflinching support to him.

What's keeping Ritesh and Genelia busy?

The marriage date is set but right now, the couple are busy promoting their forthcoming film
Ritesh and Genelia will tie the nuptial knot on February 3rd and their much talked about film 'Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya' is slated for a February 24, 2012 release.
After keeping mum on her love affair with Riteish, actress Genelia is finally talking about it. With just 10 days left for their wedding, the 24-year-old says she is impressed with her to-be-husband's spontaneity as an actor. "I feel Riteish is a phenomenal actor. The best part about him is that he is so spontaneous that he can come up with things on the spot, which was great," Genelia told IANS.
The duo made their Bollywood debut together with 'Tujhe Meri Kasam' in 2003. In the following year, they shared screen space in 'Masti', and now, after eight years, they are featuring together in 'Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya'. The romantic comedy, directed by Mandeep Kaur.
"I am hoping that we have both grown (as actors) and both of us are lot more responsible for sure....When I started off I had no clue what I was doing...but it's great to work with someone with whom you share such a close relationship," she said about working with Riteish, son of Mahrashtra's former chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.

But does their real life chemistry translate to a sizzling reel life chemistry too? "Chemistry is about two people looking good together. But I also think it's about how it's written. You are too smart an actor when you know how to pick up each other's pain and that's how chemistry comes....we (Riteish and I) discovered each other as actor after seven long years," said Genelia.
For now, the actress is uber excited for her D-day, and says she is busy wrapping up all her shopping for it. "I have always been in a happy space and of course now it gets more special," she said, adding that the couple deliberately kept their private life away from paparazzi so far
Now is the right time to talk about their relationship, she feels, but wasn't willing to give out details on the preparations of her special day. "It's just a genuine thing that you keep some amount of dignity. Even now, I am ready to talk about it, but I will not make it a story and draw eyeballs. It's just 10 days left for my wedding and it will be stupid of me not to talk about it! But it's just that I am still a little guarded and like to ...
Like many Bollywood actresses who continued to work in the industry post-marriage, Genelia plans to do the same. "I will continue acting but haven't decided to how much extent. However, work for me has never been about south or north; it's always been all about films," he added.
